>be in high school >2006 >I already took the California High School Exit Exam and passed >I get told that I'm missing like 27.5 credits to graduate from high school >it was more than I originally calculated >I ask them how it happened >they tell me that it's because there weren't enough electives for B track or someshit >I had to go to school at 6:30 AM to take Driver's Ed classes even though I had no interest in driving and then I had to do unpaid work at a courthouse through the Regional Occupational Program from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM then also take classes at school from 3:30 PM to 8:45 PM >I want to take the General Educational Development exam >I get told that the GED exam is too hard >decide to drop out at 17 >2010 >I decide to take the GED exam just for the fuck of it >I passed the exam on my first try without studying roughly four years after dropping out of high school >I earn the high school equivalency certificate >I get my first real job as a mall cop in 2011 >they never asked me for proof that I finished high school >they only wanted to see that I had a guard card >sometime later >a cousin tells me that there's a difference between the adult high school diploma and high school equivalency certificate and that it looks better on resumes to have both >2015 >I look into getting my adult high school diploma at Job Corps >I get told that they only allow students from ages 16 to 24 >I was already too old at 26 >I go to the Abram Friedman Occupational Center to see if I could get my adult high school diploma from there >I get told that I need to pick up my transcript from my old high school >I find out at my old high school that Evans Community Adult School has adult high school classes there for ages 16 and above >even though students get kicked out of the regular high school classes by age 21 >adults ages 21 and above can still attend classes from 1:30 PM to 8:45 PM >for whatever reason, the adults ages 21 and above get stuffed into the same exact classrooms as those of students ages 16 to 21 >it turns out that the high school equivalency certificate and adult high school diploma really are two different things for whatever reason >I only need to finish English Expository/Composition, US History 2, and US Government to earn my adult high school diploma >I decide to take those classes at my old high school for nostalgia's sake >they hand me a "contract" which is the most important document in adult high school–if I lose it–I lose all progress and they make me take the entire class again >I manage to finish Expo/Comp and I move on to US History 2 >adult schoolteacher loses my contract and tells me to find it >I find my contract in the garbage can next to his desk >he responds with, "oh, there it was! hee hee hee!" What's the point of high school, again?

There is none. I graduated with almost the worst possible results (3.9) and I turned out fine.

At school I learned how to synopsize my thoughts

>>288434 Looks like you went entirely in a different direction, drop out. High school is meant to lead students and help them choose their careers, that's why it has various subjects, you're supposed to get a job at what subject you were good at in High School, but I can assume you weren't good at anything.

>>288450 I scored 99% on the social studies section of the GED exam on my first try without studying roughly four years after dropping out of high school if that means anything.

>>288484 You did it wrong! You were supposed to graduate high school, go to college, then go to university to get your PhD. And finally die!
