So since investments became a trend I also joined party. I promised to post before but only now got my account and some amount of money. What I am doing is selling options. It is always cool to tell about winning trades and making money but I think it is actually fair to show the losing trades and that it is not that easy as it is. I for example made a stupid trade on Ford. Because I didn't diversify I am stuck with 400 share of this company and shareprice is going down right now. I also lost an opportunity to sell option today for a good price so at the end of the day only sold two weeks call for $26. Will see what tomorrow brings me. Btw I had to buy those shares for $12.50 on Friday I sold for puts for.

While Siemens has almost doubled since I sold. Feels bad

Damn, stock goes down and I exited at kind of wrong time and earned 12 dollars instead of 14. Hopefully will have a reversal next week but no good news so far. I want to sell call option next week if price gets right. Because of the price decline I am still a little bit above zero but at least I am kind of avoiding losses.

My portfolio has taken a hit this week and I attribute that to the gas shortage. I think I'll buy more MP, which is a rare earth mine in California. I was up 100% at one point. I also bought 100 shares of Ford last year at the bottom, feels good now but it really is a shit company.

>>114800 Just as a comparison, a 5 year performance of S&P 500 and the MSCI ACWI index. Some bubbles are bursting now which is only normal and healthy, it was actually very worrysome how long the euphoria kept going, but there's still no proper panic. Only the weakest and overleveraged hands are being washed out. I'd prefer to buy today than a week ago, of course I am no fortune teller and I am unable to foresee if we will actually go properly down this time.

Be careful with speculative investments. Loose money and lack of regulation will attract scammers and you might lose it all: >BREAKING: DeFi100 coin exit scams, and runs away with $32 million in investors funds. >Website is now updated with the message “We scammed you guys, and you can’t do shit about it” https://twitter.com/CryptoWhale/status/1396100822245777408 I wholeheartedly recommend Bernds to keep 90% of your investments in a large, diversified indexfund and only play around with max 10% of your capital with risky investments.

>>114914 >a large, diversified indexfund Such as's?
Finland Bernd 2021-05-23 22:18:45 ⋅ 2y No. 114918
>>114917 For European investors: >iShares MSCI ACWI UCITS ETF USD (Acc) (IUSQ) OR Vanguards equivalent (basically the same thing): >Vanguard FTSE All-World UCITS ETF (VWCE) Those include both the developed market and the developing markets. No brainer, no need to balance because it is done for you. However if you don't want to invest in developing markets, and want less diversification: >iShares Core MSCI World UCITS ETF (EUNL) Or if you only believe in the USA, go with S&P 500: >iShares Core S&P 500 UCITS ETF USD (Acc) (SXR8) This however reduces your diversification by a lot. I recommend diversifying as much as possible and investing for a long duration. Depending on your bank or broker, they might offer a cheap index fund that has low costs and is not an ETF which can be easier to buy into with a smaller sum of money. But it's different for each country. Finns at Nordnet.fi have access to SPP's fund ( https://www.nordnet.fi/markkinakatsaus/rahastolistat/17235176-spp-aktiefond-global ) that is somewhat costly but it's an easy access to a globally diversified portfolio with smaller sums.

>>114919 We europeans were unfortunately "protected" from Vanguard and access to their funds were made more difficult with the blessings of MiFID II ( https://www.investopedia.com/terms/m/mifid-ii.asp ), while Ishares Blackrock was quicker to give europeans access back to their ETF's, Vanguard tends to lagg behind in this case. We are forced to buy another version of their ETF's through the German exchange. Fortunately we have now access again to their version of ACWI that I also listed in the earlier post. But I do agree, preferably use Vanguard if possible. I don't know what you mean with a cum tribute.

Finland Bernd 2021-05-23 23:10:00 ⋅ 2y No. 114923
>>114922 Let's see. >VXUS So this fund excludes USA. Why exclusion of the US? USA is modern Roman empire of our time and it's one of the last places on earth to reach the phase of aging population, while the Europe, China, India, South America will all have aging population far before it. Almost all global giants come from USA, and their growth is not something I would want to miss on. >RSX This seems to be an ETF that invests in Russia. Why such a heavy focus on a developing corrupt country with a quickly aging population? I would suggest tossing these and replacing them with an FTSE All World fund that includes USA. >Alibaba Chinarisk with their crazy government that any day can come up with reasons to nationalize it, otherwise dunno. >Basf Don't know anything >Bayer After a quick glance; trending downwards since 2015 and failed to get a boost after corona, the markets aren't pricing a bright future for this investment. Revenue trending up while profits clearly downwards and debt-to-equity ratio has been going up. Overall not in a good trend. >Shell Took a clear hit from corona, maybe a good buying opportunity if it recovers back to the same level as precorona? For some reason the markets are not pricing that in however. >Gazprom Yikes, Russia. Wouldn't touch anything from there. I am not a professional stock picker and you shouldn't listen to my opinions. In the long run, something around 4% of the worlds stocks are responsible for the gains of the world and the rest 96% will underperform. Stock picking is difficult. I prefer being passive and buying the whole index, which I recommend.

>>114923 I just feel us stonks are too expensive and are bound for a correction, but I also realize that any correction in the Us will be felt in ex-us stocks, I told you I'm a schizo As for Russia, it's particularly because it's a corrupt shithole that I see potential upside. Imagine if corruption is rooted out some day and Russians learn work ethic? Energy is underpriced with the overreaction to green energy. Lots of potential and I think it worth the risk.. also fat dividends.
Finland Bernd 2021-05-23 23:21:58 ⋅ 2y No. 114925
>>114924 USA is pretty much the dog and the rest of the world is the tail, if something happens to the US markets it will most likely just spread to others as well and probably hit them even harder. Money flees quicker away from developing markets. For a place like Russia to reduce its corruption it would need to undergo a revolution, and that would probably require a civil war, and that is not good for the stocks there. I don't know about energys pricing but I know that dividends are quite irrelevant. They are transferring money from one pocket to another (from the value of the company to your bank account), and usually the taxman is between that transfer stealing his share. Unless you can escape those taxes, a more taxeffective method of investing is preferrable, like index funds where the dividends are put directly back to compound without the destructive harm of taxes.
