What's it like in Australia
I heard it's a dangerous country
But I've always wanted to live there

Terrible internet outside big cities.
Many Australian posters hate that place.
Go listen to an Australian doomer music playlist on YouTube and read some of the comments there, it really seems like on average Bernds suffer there even more than in other countries of the anglosphere.
If I had to live in an english speaking country, I'd go to some remote place in NZ because all I need to be happy is a flourishing garden and they have best conditions there to grow all kind of stuff.

something like 90% of Australians live in the cities.
Any place is dangerous if you don't take necessary supplies or precautions, I don't think Australia is much more dangerous than some other places - if you are going to the outback you just need to carry supplies and equipment necessary in an emergency.
Wages are stagnating here and the economy is mostly resource economy. when the rocks run out this place will be one of the worst in the world to live in imo

Wages are stagnant across the entire world. Canada's taxation rate is more lax than Aussie, but Nz's is stricter and higher than both but better automated.
They all come with their benefits and downsides.

I like Australia. The average person is maybe a little bit boring, but there's lots of interesting stories to be found if you go exploring.
Not much in the way of danger for a tourist. I suppose if you wanted to explore remote places, you could find yourself very far away from other people.

Lots. Not the most extreme mountains as our altitude isn't very high compared to other countires.
The Tasmanian mountains on the west of the island are considered some of our most pristine natural spots.
The Blue Mountains in NSW are a big tourist attraction and there is good rock climbing in the area.

Yeah those multiple backpacker murders that only ended some forty years ago weren't a big deal.
