Haunted buildings, I suppose?

Have you ever visiting a famous haunted building before? Although only seeing it from afar?
Bulgaria Bernd 2023-11-30 22:18:39 ⋅ 1w No. 294982
There was an old, non-functional watermill next to my village where the miller reportedly turned into a vampire after his death 100+ years ago and there were stories spread amongst the kids that you could still hear the wheel rotating at night sometimes. We used to go there from time to time when we were wee lads, but there was nothing inside save for regurgitated owl pellets and toads hiding from the daylight. They demolished it later. Not a famous one obviously, but I have nothing better to offer.

>>294982 At least it's an interesting story to read. Like, you know, story telling but based from our POV. About me, there's a tower around Cawang, which was built in the end of 90s. It was made by a billionaire who I forgot his name, but the tower was built with luxurious materials imported from Italy, Greece, etc. But one day, during operation in circa 2001/2002 until 2007 (I forgot), there were many mystical troubles like broken lifts, or whatever involving mystical powers in that building. And even after closing in 2008, that building still giving scary mystical auras, such as fictional ojek order, some lamps inside that building are lit even though it's already empty, and many more. (BTW, the photo on title thread is the tower I meant in this story. It's infamously known as Saidah tower.)

>>294988 Interesting, I like such stories from urban areas that are not just replicated folklore tropes. Is it still abandoned and if yes, are there any plans for it from the local authorities or whoever owns it currently?
Indonesia Bernd 2023-12-01 00:44:12 ⋅ 1w No. 294993
>>294990 Yes, Saidah tower is abandoned, but some security staffs still there to guarding the tower. Mayor of south Jakarta had planned to demolish the tower for safety*, but for some reason, the authority haven't yet demolishing the tower. *I heard that the tower was tilted to several degrees due to potato quality dirt, which was rumored that it was formerly cemetery area.

Place a cross or any other mark on the map and i will visit that place, record video there and post in this thread. Maybe i could even write Krautchan RIP somewhere where your mark will be. Conditions - i won't go into factories with barbed wire, jails and underwater. But otherwise whole city of Ufa can be visited.

>>166067 Decided to go to that Vysiachiy Kamen after a while. Turns out the only trail to it was occupied by some local bydlo burning some trash in the bonfire, so i decided to not approach the local wildlife and walked to my destination by the railway. Remembering those videos of Indians and trains, i was very cautious, but also if you want to get away from the rail lines, you need to get into the woods, where ticks are. So kinda hanged by the side.

>>282608 Got to the point and its what i expected. Like a cliff edge with protrubing hanging rocks, where people go to take photos. Kinda high and scary if you look down. Trees down below look small. Also apparently its popular, because when i got there, some guy was there and as soon as i arrived he fucked off, and when i took some photos and started going away, another couple of people came by. These rocks bound to collapse someday from all the visitors and rain.

Also, turns out there are AI applications and sites that allow to identify plants, simply by uploading the photo of said plant - some of them completelly free. I've been walking a lot outside recently, just snapping photos of plants and learning their names and where they come from

What is even the point of scaling that Everest mountain? People climb there, even at the cost of someone else's life and their dignity in the eyes of others.

Here, some photos I took on Saturday when I climbed V.Draški vrh (2243m) First some pics from the valley. I drove car up to parkings at Uskovnica (na Lomu, 1061m) where I started at about 8:30. At Uskovnica it was opening party for the new alpine club hut (the old one was demolished to be completely renovated) From there I took the path on the left, across Čiprje (a steep slope that's constantly sliding down, the old path was destroyed ~2018, the new path apparently wasn't completely open yet – but I managed to get across the short part that wasn't ready yet) V.Draški Vrh is the pyramid shaped peak in the middle on 1st pic, on the right in 4th pic. The wide one next to it is Tosc, the smaller pyramid is Ablanca.
Slovenia Bernd 2022-06-22 20:20:44 ⋅ 1y No. 177928
When you cross Čiprje, you have to climb the slope of Tosc to the main path leading to Triglav. There were some marmot holes at the side of the path, haven't seen any marmots though. Also flowers. I believe those are Trollius europaeus and some kind of forget-me-nots
Slovenia Bernd 2022-06-22 20:26:39 ⋅ 1y No. 177935
>>177928 The pass in 2nd pic is between V.Draški and Ablanca, the path leading to Triglav from Pokljuka goes over there. I had to get to the pass, and then go straight up along the ridge to the summit. Unmarked, but can't miss it, since it's the ridge. There's no real climbing sections but there's a bit of exposed rock before you get there. From the top of V.Draški and Tosc it's great views towards Triglav, the highest mountain in Slovenia, and down the Krma valley. Usually V.Draški doesn't have many people climbing it, but this time there were already 2 girls there, so I spilled my spaghetti.

I took the other way of descent, to the east, down into the valley of Konjščica pasture (named after horses, but today they have cows there – not yet up there this year though – and local cowherd will sell milk products for hikers all summer. But since no cows yet I just had some homemade pear brandy.) Then back to Uskovnica, check out the cows, see how the party is proceeding, eat some stew, check out the new club hut (it's still nice but maybe a bit too touristy for my taste – but hey it's practically down in the valley, so it's k), and drive back down to the valley.
