after 6 hours the only thing I know is that she doesn't have corona and that her blood oxygen is dangerously low
consequently doctors who are all busy with antivaxers with corona don't want to check her
probably pneumonia (grandpa was sick too but he's healthy and recovered easily while grandma has been weak for years)

grandma is now placed on the hallways with oxygen and antibiotics for the night
supposedly she exclaimed there that she hasn't eaten since tuesday
also apparently nobody is being tested for corona or anything when entering hospital, must be because antivaxxers sued the hospitals for discrimination and the constitutional court agreed

I swear to god, these people should get their medical insurance revoked. You refused a free anti-COVID jab? All right, fine, it's your right - but if you do contract coronavirus, you're on your own, pal - you won't receive free treatment from the state.

Best of luck with your grammie, Bernd. We don't need more deaths on our relatively young board.

grandma was transferred to proper hospital bed today
mum was with her early morning (managed to enter hospital at around 3am, no corona check against), said she was completely passed out and barely woke up, but she's supposedly doing better today, is talkative and everything (which is okay I guess, grandma normally keeps talking and you can't stop her)
she's receiving something for inflammation and breathes form oxygen mask, hopefully this is enough to get her through this

also isn't it funny
you both don't trust doctors that vaccines are safe and that you should take them
but you trust doctors enough to scream that your human rights are being violated if you don't get treated in hospitals

grandma update
apparently half of her problems are from progressing muscular dystrophy (she was tested ~10yrs ago and sample sent to italy for mitochondrial myopathy diagnosis which came back positive). put it simply she's getting too weak to breathe properly, for example she has been complaining for a while that she can't lie on her back bc she can't breathe well, also she can't cough anymore (hence pneumonia). we noticed she's been getting weaker over the last year but didn't raise the alarm yet (in retrospect we probably should, as soon as we got back to the city after the end of the summer, schedule an appointment). good news, she's doing okay, pneumonia is getting cured, she's lucid too (mum visited her in the hospital today) BUT she will need oxygen at home (especially for during the night), likely has 2-3 years left to live (unless we jack her to a respirator when it gets too bad for oxygen to help, but at that point, literally why)

Good.

That is the real question, isn't it.
Well, that's old age. Organs start to fail. We all have an expiration date, and we have to make peace with it.
