I believe god was a tool for early humans to have someone hold their hand in this complex world, this is why young children depict God as a person. I believe that god is more of a concept, creator of math to create the universe a thing he made in his image, god is something more fundamental than math. Perhaps god is the concept of existence or something more fundamental.

The questioning of fundamental concepts is the thing that separates us from the rest of any living organism. As of typing this the only animal to ask a question was Alex the parrot who asked “what color?”. What makes us so unique is our ability to look at the world and not take it as face value, and to think on a deeper level than other organisms.

Many people underestimate the power of books and text. The Aztecs and Mayan had thousands of books describing many aspects of life, but the Spanish burned most of them leaving much information lost, today only ~20 are thought to be out there. The passing of knowledge is one of the most important things in human existence, to take that away is to erase an identity.

The influence of religion from the Renaissance carried on into the Baroque era, the feeling of “power of god” from the Roman era affirmed such beliefs. The farther influence from the Baroque to the classical is why there are such feeling from the contrast of the minor and major keys. The power of emotions from these periods are why they are so impactful.

I never liked “simple art”, art made purely because “I felt like it” or “it looks good” it’s less about deeper meaning and more about there is a purpose and a reason for it existing. I also love the impact-fullness of an image, this is why modern art does not appeal to me, although it has feelings and emotions it does not strike me as impactful. For me a good example of impactful art is Gustave Doré graphic art, the only word that comes to mind whenever I see is works is “biblical”. The size of an artwork matters along with the emotions it brings, but even with small art works something seen a striking is also impactful in my eyes. What I mean when I say a small that is still impactful is something like a symbol or a juxtaposition. For example the pedoball attached to this thread, almost every iteration of the pedoball I make has him smiling. I like to imagine it that he’s scheming like the Jew from that soy meme or nothing can bother him because he is the worst of the worst. I’ve been drawing pedoballs like this for a long time before Fannyfun but KC only strengthen this style. As much as I hate to admit it but a video of a guy sawing off the limbs of a cat (label the cat as me) is a powerful image, I respond to this depiction with him smiling in every photo. I liked to mention Philip Guston's kkk art as a comparison to my own, despite being greatly affected by evil acts I can still draw them in a striking move. I sometimes make art that is both daring and complex, something AI is not yet ready to create. The had never seen AI make powerful images and I hope I never will.

Makes sense, even god came from somewhere, it’s actually very easy for something to emerge from nothing. This is why I say god is something very simple, because it always existed.
God is like math. Let’s say there is a vacuum of nothing, you can still count to one and all of time is created, you can still Measure a centimeter and all of space is created. This is why I believe “the first god” or any “original god” came from the nothing.
For the Egyptians it was the Nun for the Aztecs it was the “endless void” the Greeks had the “primordial space” . This Origin story for god actually makes a lot of sense when broken down.

Depends on how you define God I’d say. Sure not every religion has a personal creator God in the Abrahamic sense, but they all know a holy essence like atman and Brahman that is eternal and can be reached or found inside of yourself.
