Why don't you use the same front end engine that Kohl uses? I remember many people on kohl saying that the only reason they don't migrate to krautchan.rip is because of the bad UI

That is very rare to see online, I'd assume this is out-of-pocket
It lends a special purity that is nearly impossible to find elsewhere
I'd assume this is why the site slows with big waves of traffic
Maybe removing certain features would speed up the site
Like the loading percentage when you click an image

For the love of God, somebody fix those lags.
You can see them pretty easily in this thread, just play some video for 10 minutes and after a while everything is not responsive.

Also I noticed that most resourceful operation is calculation of some shitty regex, millions times per second, which does 98% of CPU work.
