Newbie to this site here,
I used to post on 4chan and Ylilauta a lot, like 15 years ago.
I was so overjoyed when I (many years ago) discovered the original Krautchan and it's /int/ sub-board, a perfect place for autistic ass burgers like me to seriously discuss world politics.
I was nostalgic for the golden days of Krautchan this morning so I tried to google-search for it's unofficial successor board, an imageboard with serious discussions in German and English. As I remembered, original KC has been down for like 5 years, and it's immediate successor imageboard KohlChan was also down.
Then I stumbled into this URL, krautchan.rip . What is this board? I thought immediately that this would be just some sort of historical overview of KC without actual possibilities of a discussion board (no possibility to post new content). Krautchan.rip? How long has this site been up? Does the admin encourage users to seriousdiscuss like in original KC? How much of a community does this site have? Any epic stories about discussions on this site?
If there is an unofficial successor imageboard for KC over in the Internet that is not this place, please do tell me where to find it.

It wants to have that comfy /int/'s pure love style of serious discussion. But it is slow. (I personally dont mind it being slow.)
Kohlchan is not down, but it is flooded with pedophiles(they're encouraged by its administration). And it is one of the reasons this board exists.
There are also other KC bunkers on different boards, but to my knowledge they are all dead now.

Depending on what you’re talking about the answer could be yes or no. Not to long ago a German was banned for cheating the algorithm by lying about things, but he did always get us talking. Do if your talking about large conversations with “seriousdiscuss” then no we want to retain our community. If your talking about serious subjects than that happens by default and we like freedom of speech on this website ( just as long as it follows the rules)

As in numbers very few because vary few people ever wondered about krautchan and there for not a lot of community. But if you are asking what is the sense of community here then the answer is a LOT. Because of our small numbers it feels more like a family were we all know each other and recognize different characters on this website. In this place you will get heard were on other image boards you are talking to a wall of people who may or may not even know you exist, .rip is not like that , not like that at all.

The website is still alive but it sucks and why krautchan.rip is the successor

The old internet is dead and will never come back. Think of krautchan.rip less of a successor or a recreation of KC but more of a continuation of the original, one that is adapting to the modern time. The new lingua franca across the board is English instead of German of course there are other pockets like /DE/, /RU/ and especially /HS/ with different languages but across the website we speak English. That’s just one difference form the original. For to truly appreciate and respect .rip you must understand this is not the original KC this is the KC that survived.
