~1/5 of population completely lacks the mental ability to imagine novel concepts without being explicitly shown. >>132508 As a child, I was attracted to reading books because my parents had many of them and some had interesting pictures. There was a particular one I liked and wanted to read and did so soon after learning how to read. Already in primary school I was reading books for adults. Some people never read books outside of school. I think that makes for a large gap in things like recursive language.
